I’ve been seeing a lot of exposed toe on the streets as the weather heats up. Havianas are hotter than ever. I’ve been searching far and wide for something a little more Olsen-adjacent. I’m in a regular pedicure cycle.
Wearing unlaced shoes in New York City is a gamble. I’m not sure if this is a me-thing, but my foot slides out of my flops pretty often, the entire bare sole of my foot kissing the raw pavement. I’ve danced around broken bottles in my Tabi’s and had to take an immediate foot bath upon returning home due to trudging through the dirt in ballerinas. I try not to think about what could be lingering within. My biggest fear is stepping on a dirty needle or something and becoming inadvertently high. I don’t even get high intentionally.
I’d recommend we all get tetanus shots ahead of the summer if we’re planning on taking part in this summer’s hottest footwear trend. A dear friend of the blog cut her foot on a jagged sewer grate this weekend, and urgent care sent her home with her latest dose along with an antibiotics prescription. Stay safe out there, everyone. Lucky for me, the Zara flip flops I ordered were stolen in transit. Zara told me to call the police. Over $40 flip flops? I think the 7th Precinct has bigger fish to fry. This would also be my second call of the week to them. I got into a fight with the Chat Bot on Zara.com, so I won’t be shopping with them ever again. I took my business to Amazon (way more sustainable and ethical!), and ordered a pair of Archies.
Another new pair of sandals I can’t recommend enough are the Dr. Scholl’s x Favorite Daughter Heartbreak Kitten Heel. I wore them this weekend during my sister’s graduation and people thought they were vintage.
Now that my safety PSA of the week is over, I can tell you all about the most exciting day of my life. One week ago, when I saw Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet in person at the Knicks game.
If you know me, you know I’m a huge Knicks fan. I’m also a huge fan of Timothée and Kylie. I think they are endgame and that he is the father who stepped up for Stormi and Aire. Throughout the past two years, I’ve been begging the universe for content, savoring every blurry picture and coincidental run-in I can get.
Never did I think that my own two eyes would be graced with their presence. For someone who loves the Knicks so much, my attention simply could not be held by basketball—until the Knicks claimed the best win I’ve ever seen in the Garden (before Friday happened). I watched Kylie, Timmy, and Kendall giggle, cheer, and cuddle (sans Kendall), and used my iPhone 16 Pro Max for the one thing it’s good for—taking extremely zoomed-in photos. Side note, if you’re ever in the 100s at MSG, I can’t recommend the pastrami and pulled pork sandwiches enough.

My life has been feeling like Girls for a lot of reasons I won’t divulge on the internet, but in the latest parallel, I dined at the renovated Kellogg’s Diner in Williamsburg, aka the scene of “Good soup” from season 6 episode 8. It may not physically look like when Hannah and Adam had the most heartbreaking breakup ever portrayed on television, but the aura was there.

After watching the three-part documentary about Osama bin Laden’s manhunt on Netflix this weekend, I started Benito Skinner’s show on Prime Video, Overcompensating. I’ve been waiting for this to come out for months as an avid fan and listener of his podcast with Mary Beth Barone who is also in the show, and it has lived up to the hype I created. I’ll be done with the season by next week, so I’ll provide a full recap then. I’m also nearly halfway through Keith McNally’s memoir, and it’s pretty great if somebody is looking for their first summer read.
I forgot to mention these last week, but I saw two extremely adorable pairs of shoes from Reformation, after I tried on a pair of shorts so deeply unflattering on me. The cream pair remind me of a cartoon shoe from a Disney movie, and the pistachio pair are truly cementing the hue as one of the colors of the season. Reformation in general has a lot of really excellent shoes right now.

I’m not sure how much on-board I am for the boat shoe bandwagon. I really like how they look in menswear, but in womenswear they feel a little micro-trend final boss to me. I think I have my heart set on a pair of Horsebit loafers from The Real Real, a pair that is so badly beaten up that they’re under $100.
Last, but certainly not least, my Cleo tee from Cleo Camp recommended by
finally came! I love it very much and wore it two days in a row, both ways. I can’t decide if I should get white now, or if I should wait to see what else the brand comes out with in the coming months. Why not both!I also finally got the Kipling Backless Tank from Emily Dawn Long per Liana’s latest recommendation. I tried it on last summer at Café Forgot, and I don’t think I can go on without it any longer. This feels like a true wardrobe staple for me. I got black to ensure it as such. If I were getting married, I would be wearing her Dammit Janet dress. All I’m missing is the groom.
